Basket of Apples Craft

You Will Need:
● At least 2 apples cut in half, one lengthwise, one widthwise
● A recycled brown paper shopping bag
● Scissors and glue
● Washable tempera paints in red, green and/or yellow
● A black marker for writing a holiday greeting if you wish
● White construction paper
Trace and cut the shape of a basket onto your recycled brown paper bag. It’s OK if the bag has
writing and graphics on it, I actually think it makes it look even better! Glue the basket base to
the bottom portion of your white paper. Cut the handles off of your recycled bag to use as a
basket handle. Glue to the base of the basket as shown in the above photo. Once dry, you’ll get
to dip right into apple printing a basket full of apples! Some children might enjoy getting their
hands in and on this activity and that just adds to the charm. I find it helpful to keep a wet
washcloth or wipes alongside our art station for quick preliminary cleanup before that painty
handed march to the bathroom sink. Having children squeeze their painty hands together as
they walk is a great way to eliminate wandering fingerprints around your home. The finished
project is a lovely decoration for your home or can be given as a holiday greeting to friends and
family.
